Hoi An is considered the low note in the harmony in the music of Central Vietnam full of sunshine and wind. It is perhaps only for those who love the sweetness of do nothing. You are invited to be in Hoi An for a slow living.
Not as mysterious as the Hue Imperial City or natural as Ha Long Bay, Hoi An City offers other antique features of architectural monuments and urban life of Cham, Chinese, French, Japanese and Vietnamese in various forms such as house, assembly hall, communal house, pagoda, shrine, temple, bridge, market and many more.
These have been preserved and most are all still intact. Hoi An Ancient Town was listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in December 1999. Monthly event called “Light Bright” which there is no fluorescent light, no motorcycle and no television in town attracts tourists from all over the world. Only the light from candles, oil lamps and paper lanterns is at that time.
